The ICP-CSIC coordinates a European project to produce sustainable detergents, textiles and cosmetics with enzymes

The Systems Biotechnology Group at ICP-CSIC is leading a European project to replace chemical agents with microbial enzymes that can be incorporated into the manufacture of consumer products. The addition of enzymes to detergents, as well as the processing of textiles and cosmetics with enzymes, can reduce CO2 emissions by 42 million tons per year.
