Sustainable Energy and Chemistry Group (EQS)

The research of the Sustainable Energy and Chemistry Group focuses on the study of catalysts and catalytic processes for clean energy processes and the production of products from renewable sources. In particular, we work on:

  • Hydrogen production from renewables (H2O and biomass) through electrocatalysis, heterogeneous catalysis and photocatalysis.
  • New electrocatalysts for fuel cells, with the replacement of noble metals by abundant materials.
  • Catalysis and catalytic processes in biorefineries for the transformation of biomass into products with high added value and second generation fuels.
  • Chemistry of C1, recovery of natural gas and CO2 in products and fuels through catalytic routes.
